Potato spread

Serves 8 – 10 as a starter:

  • 1,5 kg Grocholl Top Quality Potatoes 20-30 mm
  • 3 red onions
  • 250 g single cream
  • 250 g sour cream
  • 4 tbsp chopped chives
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • freshly ground salt and pepper
  • caraway (whole or ground)


Press the potatoes through a potato mincer or finely mash with a masher. Peel and dice the onions. Heat the butter in a pan and fry the onions until they are translucent. Remove from the pan and mix with the mashed potatoes. Add cream and sour cream. Season generously with salt and pepper and fold in the chives. Season to taste with caraway.

Serve on slices of fresh, dark sourdough bread.
